Headaches...

You know part of my practice, I focus on a lot of pain management.

A very common complaint that people come into the clinic are people who have neck pain and/or headaches. I really get it that it’s really “a pain in the neck”.

There’s a lot of different sources of where the pain is coming from. It could be muscular, articular (joint related), or neurological. My focus here is mostly on muscular headaches because those are the most easily treated and they have the best results. Most of the time people may wake up with neck pain or headaches and this can be contributed to sleeping in an odd position, a pillow that is too flat or too high, or stress. Other times, a person may have been lifting a bit too much during a workout session and might just pushed a little bit too much and the person may strain muscles around the neck or shoulders. Other times, a person may have bumped their head and got a concussion and part of the concussion involves the muscles relating to the neck and shoulders.

Here’s a photo of some common headaches:

Tension, post-traumatic, and migraines are headaches that I normally deal with here at the clinic and with a combination of acupuncture and chiropractic - I’ve been having a lot of great results with helping patients feel better!

Honestly at the time of writing… I was experiencing “a pain in the neck” and I had a colleague and friend come and treat my tension headaches. It was gnarly… Definitely check out my IG: @drkevinkwlee_chiro to get the latest reel on the treatment of my own neck pain. Cheers!
