Hey guys!
It's been awhile since I've posted... I had a post here about 5 days ago that go lost somewhere in the drafting process which listed about what has been going on in the last couple of weeks with training and my bike fitting.
So here's a quick recap as to what's been going on:
- We're unfortunately not doing our Niagara ride on June 10 because some people have prior ENGAGEMENTS that they had previously booked. So we've moved our ride to July instead. It's a bit of a downer, however I think it allows the 3 of us to get more training in.
However, on June 10 we are going to be doing a 60km ride down the Don Valley trails. It's a biking and walking trail. It's not really ideal, but we're hoping to get other people who have started biking to join us for a nice ride and to have a nice patio lunch on that day.
- I've been training inconsistently due to weather and due to work schedule. It's been pretty rough. I had a course in Chicago during the US Memorial Day long weekend and I had some time to train on a stationary bike after classes. I also got some time to share in a BBQ with my classmates and had awesome Polish food for the first time as well.
- May 31, I got my bike officially fitted by Joseph Miller of Kingdom Force Cycling out in Pickering. It has been a super enlightening experience because I got to see all these dysfunctions that I have while riding and there's a ton of stuff that I need to get working on to be more efficient and to have less pain while riding. I was told my L leg does all the work while riding and my R leg just comes along for the ride. There's a lot of intricacies and little things that I didn't know I had going on and these are the things that I'll need to work on and off the bike.
That's a quick post for now! I've got some homework to do in the next couple of weeks. I've got to do some long rides at 70% energy output and then I've got to study for my last module in Chicago at the end of June.
It's been a busy, confusing, yet englightening May-June so far! Looking forward to sharing more training with you guys soon!
